The Other Side

Governor Whitmer and Why We Have Militias

Posted on Oct 10th, 2020

From a cursory knowledge of the reason we have the right to form militias and their rights to overthrow government entities that deny the constitutional limits placed on those officials.

Ask yourself this. If a government official goes against the constitution is it the right of the people to rise up and remove that official? If the government official is shown to be breaking the constitution by high courts then continues to go against the constitution, when is it proper to use force to remove them from office?

You may be asking yourself, violence has no place in society, how can anybody believe that force should be used to remove a person from office? If the government thinks you have broken their rules, they will send a militia to your home to forcefully remove you and detain you until they see fit. They will then use another militia to hold you as a prisoner if you are convicted of a crime. What do you think police are? Police are your local militia, prison guards are another local militia and state police are an even wider ranging militia. But they are controlled by our elected government officials, to control you the citizen. The constitution was put in place to limit the authority that any government official can have over a normal citizen for that precise reason. Humans will be humans and some love power. Just as we have rules against killing, we also have rules against government force.

Now ask yourself. If one person can take your freedom by force, why can it not go the other way? Why are politicians not held to the same standards as the rest of the citizens?

Let's get in to some details about what has happened recently in Michigan and the plot to remove our governor from office by any means necessary.

The first thing we need to understand. The governor defied the Michigan Constitution and the United States Constitution. After it was decided by the Michigan Supreme Court, she vowed to continue to defy the courts decision and the constitution.

The second thing we need to be aware of is her extreme partisanship. We have two examples of the exact same type of protest with different responses from the Governor.

About the April rally organized by Michigan Conservative Coalition, "We also know that when these events happen, they are political rallies. Make no mistake about it. It's not just people that disagree. This is an organized effort. They bring confederate flags. Which is not something you see in Michigan very often. They bring swastikas and long guns. They bring their anti-choice ... you know ... propaganda. And I think, this is more about a political rally than anything." “It wasn’t really about the stay-at-home order at all, it was essentially a political rally, a political statement that flies in the face of all of the science and all of the best practices from the stay-at-home order that was issued.” “Showing up and being this irresponsible is not just endangering our own lives, it’s endangering all of our first responders, this is precisely the worst thing that could have happened, today.” "These protests, in a perverse way, make it likelier that we're going to stay in a stay-home posture."

About the May 28 rally organized by Legally Armed in Detroit, Terrell Jermaine Starr asked Gov. Whitmer, “How do you respond to people who say that if there were a group of black men who stormed the state Capitol that they would have been dead?” Gov. Whitmer said, “I understand why people say that, and I don’t disagree.”

The only difference is that one rally was "mostly white" and against her orders and organized by a conservative group, and one was "mostly black" and about gun rights. And how many black people that came to capitol were harmed? Zero. How can two very similar events be seen so differently? Politics. Also, the swastikas were not for support of Nazis, but calling Gov. Whitmer out for being authoritarian like Nazis.

Ask yourself, if the swastikas were not in support of Nazis and were directed toward Gov. Whitmers actions, why is she bringing it up in such a way as to portray the crowd and not her actions?

OK, now that we have covered a bit about the double standards of Gov. Whitmer, let's get in to some more details of recent events and the willful ignorance of said governor. "Just last week the President of the United States stood before the American people and refused to condemn white supremacist and hate groups, like these two Michigan militias." Gov. Whitmer said at a press conference.

Wolverine Watchmen, one of the two militias she speaks of, known statements include “A well-armed citizenry is the best form of Homeland Security and can better deter crime, invasion, terrorism, and tyranny." "Everyone is welcome, regardless of race, creed, color, religion or political affiliation, provided you do not wish to bring harm to our country or people." If you do any type of investigation. I mean Gov. Whitmer had the FBI and State Police evidence right? You will find that some of these people were in no way "right-wing" or even conservative that wanted her out of office by any means necessary. Let that sink in for a bit. The person with the most access to the actual information about the subjects involved, says things they know, or should know, are not the truth.

Do you see anything wrong here? Do you see any willful ignorance? When is it proper for citizens to forcefully remove a politician that is willfully disregarding our constitution?
